United Self-Help is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote mental health through education and mutual support. We offer support groups, fun events, a 4th Friday dinner social, and educational classes.

We’ve provided a number of resources here to help you help yourself. Check out our Calendar to find group meetings and other activities.

Anxiety and Depression support group.

Anxiety and depression group: every Monday 6:00 PM-7:30 PM. The itinerary is the following for each week:

  1. understanding anxiety
  2. getting started- simple tips
  3. making an anxiety/depression profile
  4. sharing of profiles and discussion
  5. changing anxious thinking
  6. developing an exposure plan
  7. sharing and discussing exposure experience
  8. how to maintain these skills/exposure #2
  9. sharing and discussion of last week
  10. final discussion- certificates

In each week we will do weekly door prizes, a special prize for those who complete the half way mark and certificates of completion and possibly a party at the end (if Covid allows)


United Self-Help Support Group

Please join us for a weekly virtual support group, every Tuesday 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM. The support group will be focused on various topics relating to stress management and mindfulness during the COVID-19 pandemic and state quarantine. FREE MEDITATION TOO!

Talk to a fellow consumer on the warm line. The warm line is for mental health consumers who would like someone to talk with. If you get a recording, leave a message. Our lines fill up fast, we’ll call you back. Hours will be from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM seven days a week.

United Self-Help partners with the National Institute of Mental Health to inform the public about mental health disorders, reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness, and increase the public’s awareness of the importance of basic and clinical research in advancing knowledge of the brain and behavior.
